Frequently Asked Questions

Please contact me directly or use the contact page if you cannot find an answer to your question.

52-52-52 is challenge to run 52 half marathons (13.1 miles or 21kms) in the 52 weeks of 2025.

I'm 51/52 years old, my mind is willing and I'm in pretty good shape all things considered; However, I may get sick or injured.

Also there may be other unforeseen circumstances that prevent me from completing a planned run such as familly, work issues or even crazy weather.

I will endeavor to run every week but, in these circumstances I will either:

  1. Play catch-up over the next couple of weeks
  2. Walk instead of run
  3. Complete the 13.1 miles over two sessions

Finally, I may complete an official challenge or run that is further than 13.1 miles (such as a marathon or ultra) in which case, I hope you'd understand that I carry over the excess that week and only make up the difference the following week.

i.e. I run a 26.2 mile marathon in week 4, so in week 5 I don't need to do anything; or in week 9 I run 18 miles, so in week 10 I only run the difference of 8.1 miles.

I intend to run a few paid for races in 2025 as I'd normally do; however, the vast majority will be my own routes. I can't justify spending £30-£40 on many a race to raise money for charity as I may as well just donate the money directly.

YES PLEASE!

I love company, especially at the pace I'll be doing most of them.

Contact me directly, or via the contact page and we can arrange a time and place!

Sure. I included links to their websites on the charity pages but I'd be happy to tell you about them in person (preferably out on a run :-) )

I have no bias as to which one you support, but if unsure, I'd be delighted if you gave to both. I know it's a little more hard work, but it's not like I'm asking you to donate every week for 52 weeks :-)

To enable me to split the sponsorship between the two charities, and to make the most from the 25% additional Gift Aid, I have had to create TWO SEPERATE Just Giving Pages, one for each charity.

At the time of creation, the Four Winds charity didn't have a registered charity number, so I was unable to create a direct charity page.

Donations to this charity will be held by Just Giving and then paid directly to myself to hand over to the centre (through my work's charity donation).
